The Fallas are the main cultural fiestas from the city of Valencia. The festival takes place between 15 and 19 March, the "Fallas week," but from 1 March it is celebrated some falleros even as "mascletaes", beautiful fireworks.

The origins of fallas date back from the 18th C. The most popular version of the fallas origins say that they were initiated by the carpenters guild who burned their "parots" (structures where they hung their lamps that gave light) on the eve of its patron St. Joseph.

During years, these "parots" were becoming increasingly sophisticated. Humanoid figures engendering old clothes or furniture and other objects accompanied the representation or burlesque skits. These parots became the first ninots. People in the neighborhoods got involved in the design process of the ninots representations doing all this activity a real festival.
